I don’t know what my deal is lately, but I am having the worst time sleeping!

I used to sleep like a baby every night, but now, nope.

Some nights I fall asleep ok, just to wake up at 3 in the morning and not be able to fall back asleep.

Other nights I can’t fall asleep at all.  So I’ve been looking into natural sleep remedies and thought you all could benefit from them too!

First up, tart cherry juice.  Weird, huh?  I guess tart cherry juice (has to be from tart cherries) help natural raise your melatonin levels.

Melatonin is the hormone that makes you sleepy.  So I’ve started drinking a little glass before bedtime.

You can find tart cherry juice at health food stores.  Try to look for one without a lot of added sugar, because that is the last thing you need when trying to fall asleep.

Eat a little bedtime snack that has some protein, like trail mix or a handful of nuts. Sometimes I wake up because I’m hungry, so a little snack before bed and a full tummy can help with that!

Put down the electronics!!!  This is one that I have a hard time with.  The kiddos are all sleeping and I finally have a chance to check my email or look at Facebook. But, doing that can keep you awake longer.  So try and put down all electronics at least 30 minutes before bedtime.

And the good ol’standby.  Warm milk. Now I can’t stand plain warm milk (bleh!!!), but add a little honey, cinnamon, and vanilla and it almost feels like a little treat.
